Since 1994, the Ohio General Assembly has provided funding for capital improvements to state historical facilities through the Ohio Cultural Facilities Commission. These facilities are operated by the Ohio Historical Society, which also manages the improvements projects. Some examples include the renovation of former Governor Thomas Worthington's Adena estate and improvements to the Neil Armstrong Air and Space Museum. More than 60 different state historical facilities projects have been assigned to the Commission, and they have received more than $66 million in state appropriations.
