Covedale Center for the Performing Arts

Facility

The Covedale Center for the Performing Arts serves as the home of Cincinnati Young People's Theatre. The troupe produces six shows each season at the Covedale as well as numerous performances, events and children's programs at the Covedale and other venues in the Cincinnati area. The Covedale was vacant when purchased by Cincinnati Young People's Theatre in 1982, and the organization has since made considerable renovations and improvements through four phases of work.

Current Project

State capital funds of $100,000, appropriated in Am. Sub. H.B. 562 of the 127th General Assembly, will assist with a fifth phase of work at the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts. Backstage construction and renovation will create 1,500 square feet of additional space on two floors, adding a new electrical distribution system, building dressing rooms, and installing water lines, sewer lines and restrooms backstage. The project received Commission approval in February 2009.
