Located adjacent to the Ohio Historical Center, Ohio Village is a reconstruction of a typical 1860s Ohio town, where visitors can experience daily life in the Civil War era. Completed in fiscal year 2002, this project involved structural, mechanical, and electrical renovations and improvements, roof replacements, kitchen equipment upgrades, ADA-compliant modifications, and exhibit renovation. The state appropriation of $1.6 million also funded the construction of an educational facility that replicates a 19th-century Gothic Revival church. The gatehouse was enlarged to accommodate visitor orientation.
