Built in 1859 by local businessman Douglas Putnam, the Anchorage is a 22-room Tuscan-style stone mansion originally known as “Putnam Place.”
The state appropriated $50,000 in Am. Sub. H.B. 675 of the 124th General Assembly for improvements to this historic landmark located in the Harmar District of Marietta. Improvements may include chimney and roof work, first-floor restoration, and installation of an ADA-compliant elevator.
