The state has appropriated $73.35 million for two Cincinnati professional sports stadium projects: Paul Brown Stadium; and the Great American Ball Park, including the Reds Hall of Fame. The Commission has reimbursed Hamilton County, which manages the projects, $73.35 million in state appropriations to date. The Legislature has established a combined funding cap of $81 million for the two facilities.
Noted for its modern design, Paul Brown Stadium features 66,500 seats, 7,600 club seats, 108 suites, a synthetic-turf playing surface, and televised replay screens at both end zones. It opened in 2000, and is home to the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals. The project included the construction of the stadium and adjacent training facilities. State funds totaling $50 million were invested in the project.
