The Ohio Historical Center in Columbus was completed in 1970 to house the Ohio Historical Society’s central museum, archives, library and administrative staff.
Local- and wide-area networking, as well as data and video equipment, now electronically link the Ohio Historical Center with 23 other state historical facilities. The technology is used for administrative functions, to offer more interactive video to Ohio schools, and to afford greater public access to collections via the Internet. Work on the $300,000 state-funded project was completed in fiscal year 2001.
