Decorative Arts Center (Reese-Peters House)

Decorative Arts Center (Reese-Peters House)

Facility

The Reese–Peters House, located in Lancaster, was built in 1834 and is considered an outstanding example of transitional Greek Revival architecture. It is home to the Decorative Arts Center of Ohio, which offers art exhibitions and art education programs. A garage was converted into a hands-on art studio and classroom facility called the Wendel Center for Art Education - also known as the Art Garage - in 2001. The state contributed $1.45 million to the rehabilitation of the house and garage.
