Canton Palace Theatre
Facility
The interior of the Canton Palace Theatre, built in 1926, duplicates the look of a Mediterranean courtyard on a midsummer night. The theater hosts over 300 events per year and has an attendance of over 100,000 annually.
Current Project
The facility has four state appropriations totaling $3.05 million. The state has reimbursed the local sponsor over $3.03 million for improvements that include orchestra pit and storage room additions, stage rigging and marquee replacements, office remodeling, and exterior terra cotta restoration.
