Civil War Site Improvements
Current Project
The 127th General Assembly appropriated $475,000 in Am. Sub. H.B. 562 to create exhibits at state memorials and museums that detail Ohio’s involvement in the Civil War. Exhibits are planned for Buffington Island State Memorial, which commemorates Ohio’s only Civil War battle, as well as several other sites. Installation of these permanent exhibits will be timed to open in conjunction with the start of the Civil War Sesquicentennial in 2011.
