ArtsinStark Cultural Center
Facility
ArtsinStark is the county arts council, managing the Cultural Center for the Arts, granting more than $1 million annually, developing public art projects, and sponsoring arts-in-education activities throughout Stark County. The Cultural Arts Center, owned and operated by ArtsinStark, has five resident arts groups: Canton Ballet, Players Guild Theatre, Canton Museum of Art, Canton Symphony Orchestra, and Voices of Canton Inc.
Current Project
State capital funds of $150,000, appropriated by the 127th General Assembly in Am. Sub. H.B. 562, will reimburse ArtsinStark for recent structural renovations to its parking deck at the Cultural Center for the Arts. The project included replacement of deteriorated concrete, expansion joints and curbs, as well as curb painting. The expenditure of funds received Commission approval in November 2009.
