Local sponsors hope to transform this historic depot into a transportation museum and community building. Despite being moved in the 1970s, the depot is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The project will involve a complete renovation of the depot, as well as installation of a restroom, a kitchenette, a community room, an HVAC system, a fire suppression system, and an ADA-compliant entrance. Many of the depot's original artifacts will be displayed, including passenger logs and baggage carts. Exterior work will include a paved parking area, lighting, signage, and landscaping. The state appropriated $106,000 in Am. Sub. H.B. 562 of the 127th General Assembly.
