The Johnny Appleseed Museum contains the largest known collection in the world of memorabilia and written materials about this early Ohio pioneer. The museum also established a national registry of Johnny Appleseed's relatives as a study in genealogical heritage.
A state appropriation of $50,000 in Am. Sub. H.B. 699 of the 126th General Assembly will be used to relocate the Johnny Appleseed Museum from the campus of Urbana University to a former bank building in downtown Urbana. Plans also call for the renovated bank building to house university administrative offices and an art gallery.
