The city of Bucyrus was home to a stop on the Toledo and Ohio Central Railroad, which was the first railroad constructed in the region when it was built in 1877.
The state has appropriated $30,000 in Am. Sub. H.B. 699 of the 126th General Assembly for restoration of the Bucyrus railroad depot, which is being undertaken by the Bucyrus Preservation Society.
