BalletMet Columbus
Facility
Ranked among the nation's 15 largest dance companies, BalletMet Columbus has provided artistic excellence in the field of dance to central Ohio since 1978. In 2006, the organization converted 5,500 square feet of a 20,000-square-foot warehouse into a new 250-seat performing arts theater. The theater accommodates more intimate performances and experimental works, and also provides additional space to serve BalletMet Dance Academy students for classes and public performances.
Current Project
An appropriation of $250,000 funded the purchase and installation of a stage lighting system, stage sound system, house lights, a new portable sprung dance floor, and Marley floor covering. State funds were reimbursed during fiscal year 2008.
