The Pro Football Hall of Fame & Museum works very closely with all facets of the pro football family - the Commissioner's Office, the 32 NFL clubs, NFL Films, and NFL Network - as it strives to serve as the best possible showplace and historical repository for the sport of professional football. Prior state appropriations have funded two projects at the Hall of Fame. A state appropriation of $400,000 in 2005 funded an outdoor plaza which is used to host large-group events for the organization. Funds of $1.65 million in 2006 contributed to renovations at Fawcett Stadium, the adjacent high school stadium used for the Hall of Fame's Enshrinement Ceremony and for the Hall of Fame Game.
The hall of fame received a new appropriation of $500,000 in Am. Sub. H.B. 562 of the 127th General Assembly, which will contribute to the renovation and modernization of the Super Bowl Experience Gallery. The gallery will be renamed the Lamar Hunt Super Bowl Gallery, and the project includes updates to video technology and interactive components. The project received Commission approval in August 2009.
