Ohio Cultural Facilities Commission Approves
$1.4 Million for Cleveland Public Theatre

Columbus, Ohio –
The Ohio Cultural Facilities Commission approved $1.4 million at its quarterly meeting today for the Cleveland Public Theatre.

Cleveland Public Theatre is a leading experimental performance venue sponsoring dance, music, poetry, performance art, and live theater. Located in the Gordon Square Arts District, Cleveland Public Theatre’s project is one of a trio of theater rehabilitation projects taking place as part of the area’s revitalization. State funds approved today will contribute to Cleveland Public Theatre’s project to build a connector to join the Cleveland Public Theatre building to the Gordon Square Theatre building (also owned by Cleveland Public Theatre), and conduct exterior building weatherization.

The Commission approval, coupled with the signing of legal agreements, allows Cleveland Public Theatre to be reimbursed on a pro rata basis with funds appropriated in Am. Sub. H.B. 699 of the 126th General Assembly and Am. Sub. H.B. 562 of the 127th General Assembly.
